How to enable more micro enterprises to digitise using tools available on AWS Digital Suite?

Summary

As a part of Jeff Bezos commitment of $1 bn for digitisation program for micro and small enterprises and AWS needed to onboard micro enterprises from all parts of India. AWS took relevant tools from Indian startups and offered them at upto 85% discount as an introductory offer. Fitment analysis and Onboarding model created by Aaroh. Roll out in the smaller cities of India also carried out by Aaroh to make this their flagship program under SMB VIdyalaya.

Impact

  • Co-created a suite of tools sourced from Amazon partners to introduce digitisation for micro SMEs
  • In a pilot project, enrolled ~2000 micro enterprises across multiple cities into 2–3 digital initiatives (billing, HR-payroll, inventory management)
  • Mapped current digital dependencies and gaps of micro enterprises
  • Covered cities including Ludhiana, Jamshedpur, Shimla, Kolkata, Pathankot, Coimbatore, Vellore, Trichy, Bhiwadi, Jaipur, Aligarh, Pune, Aurangabad, etc.
  • Built a strong database for further digitisation and awareness initiatives
  • Planned scale-up to include small enterprises and exporters across India

Marketing and Roll Out

  • Program created under Jeff Bezos’ commitment of $1B investment to digitise 10M+ small businesses in India
  • Partnered with Amazon to roll out highly discounted digitisation tools (up to 85% off) from startups like Vyapar, GreytHR, Vinculum, Zoho Inventory, etc.
  • After success with micro enterprises, expanded the program to digitise small enterprises across India
